Alliance produced consumer, industrial and military products for decades before eventually manufacturing its first garage door unit in 1954. The name? You guessed it, Genie. Genie Belt Drive Openers

Belt drives are quiet, durable and low-maintenance, making them one of the most popular drive types today. Genie Chain Drive Openers

Chain drives work similarly to belt drives, but use a sturdy metal chain instead of a belt to raise and lower the door. Genie Garage Door Opener Maintenance and Care

Like all garage door openers, Genie’s products require seasonal and annual maintenance to maximize their longevity and performance. Consult your owner’s manual for opener-specific maintenance requirements, but here are some typical procedures you should perform at least twice per year. 

• Lubricate all moving parts with a silicone-based product
• Visually inspect the tracks and clean as necessary
• Inspect and test the safety sensors and remove debris or realign as necessary
• Tighten all hardware
• Open and close the garage door multiple times, looking closely for misalignment or suboptimal performance
